My name is Boston Davis Bostian (see my personas: GenderPunk Librarian and Genderpunk Poet). I am a soon-to-be-official librarian (thanks to UNT) and I was trained in the craft of poetry (thanks to UH). Previous collaborative projects include: the GENDER book, where I was a founding co-creator and worked with current co-creators Mel Reiff Hill, Jay Mays, and Robin Mack, and Define:TraNsition, a collection of black and white portraiture photography, which celebrates the full-blown-beauty of trans* and gender independent individuals via the emerging art genre: poetography [poʊə-ˈtɑɡrə-fi], where I worked with photographer Jan Johnson. I am currently at work on my first book of poetry: TransPoetica | Journal of Ashes. I am the current facilitator for Genderpedia.net, a resource wiki, and for a forthcoming reading series called the Poetry to Portrait Series through Indie Penned Events at Independence Art Studios in the Heights District of Houston, TX. You can find a comprehensive list of my projects here. Or if you’ve seen me do a presentation and you’re looking for the prezi.com presentation called Gender Diverse Literature for Young Adults, Kids, and the Young-at-Heart: A 101 Guide to the Reference Interview with Our Transgender Patrons, go directly to my presentations page. Below is the very first video by the GENDER book Project. Thanks a bunch for visiting my website – hope you enjoy!
